Following 16 years of professional service to the aquaculture industry, Aquametrix recently initiated a new company to provide the industry with specialized products related to the environmental requirements. AquaM.A.P., a spatial Manager for Aquaculture Producers, is a complete data management system for the aquaculture producer. The software was developed using ESRI Map Objects as its base (a licensed copy comes with the AquaM.A.P. software package) and is designed as a GIS front for the compilation and access to geo-referenced data including:

• Product inventory
• Feeding records
• Infrastructure configuration (anchoring components, cages, longlines, floats, barges, shore tackle, etc.)
• Sampling/survey data; monitoring stations and reference to historical data, including numerical and photographic (stills, video)
• User-defined Reference Material Library (e.g., pertinent Regulations, Code of Practise documents, etc.).

Special features of the software include:

• Multiple-Site management with opening menu
• Event/Obligation scheduler and reminder function
• Drawing/Labeling tools with link to specified GIS layer
• Direction-Distance and Area measurement tools
• Pan/Zoom and geo-reference (lat/long ID) tools
• Color/Size control over layers, symbols and fonts
• Date stamp for update referencing
• Scale control
• Standard print control for quick-printing
• Help menu
