Two sizes of the well-known Van Veen grab sampler are offered:

• Standard: stainless with 0.1 m.sq. sampling area
• Small: stainless with 0.05 m.sq. sampling area

All grabs come with lead weights (removable) and two access doors on the top to allow substrate subsampling.


This specialized survey winch system, designed for sampling/survey work at or around aquaculture facilities, is constructed of a stainless shaft, bearings, drum, and otherwise all-aluminum components. The split drum has a left-side capacity of 500 metres of stainless hydrographic wire (3/16") with an average circumferance of 1.0 metres for optimal instrument deployment speeds. The right drum side can be used for line/rope, and the holding capacity will depend upon line sizes. The drum height-width ratio allows self-tailing of wire upon retrieval, with minimal operator attention.
